For the past 3 years, my aunt and I have made it a tradition to visit Las Vegas in February. This
began after our family vacation to Disney in February, when the year after we wanted another trip around the same time. Las Vegas was our pick, and we have been keeping the tradition ever since.

I don’t know what it is, but Vegas just feels like such another world while you’re there. With so much to do and see, it’s easy to get swept up in it all. In February, the weather is also perfect. It’s dry, not too cold or too hot, and it’s not as crowded at this time either.

Now that we’ve been a few times, I thought it great to list out some of my favorite things when visiting Sin City!

  1. 1. Stay at The Venetian

So, I’ve only ever stayed at the Venetian hotel when visiting Vegas. I’ve visited all of the main hotels on the strip, from all the times I’ve visited, but it truly is the most special. Being an all suite hotel, it is truly accommodating! The casino is well lit, and the decor everywhere is Venice elegance. Service is top notch, and they have all the restaurants and shops you could ask for! I have yet to eat at a restaurant here that was not DELISH. Fave spots here at the Grand Lux (a sister to Cheesecake Factory) and Morels is a nice, upscale place as well. The spa here is also amazing!

2. Have Afternoon Tea at the Petrossian Caviar Bar

When I first tried this, I had never had a real high or afternoon tea service. I always felt like in another life, I could have been a Brit. I love tea anyway, but I really love an experience. The Petrossian Bar offers a decently priced tea service that has everything you could want. You select 4 sandwiches, which is accompanied by scones and chef choice desserts. I always think it’s less food than it is, yet every time I leave stuffed! It’s may favorite little lunch. I’ve never just shown up for tea, so I recommend placing a reservation.

3. Visit the Bellagio Gardens

Being an earth sign, as well as a Libra rising, I have an affinity for the beauty of the natural world. The gardens at the Bellagio are truly just a small, but magical little oasis. There is perfume pumped into the area thru incense shaped sticks, and there is a variety of plantlife and flowers throughout. Since we always go in February, the gardens are also decorated for the Lunar New Year, which is always a fun treat. So far I have seen the Monkey, the Rooster, and the Dog, and each year it is totally unique in their assortment of the animal. I cannot wait to go in 2021 when it’s the Year of the Ox (my Chinese Zodiac)! I should note, I am a Wood Ox (1985), so the theme of plants continues!

4. See a Cirque du Soleil show

Pretty simple, but there are a plethora of Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas. I say take your pick really, but they are all truly amazing. From the performances, to the visuals, to the music, it is all just an experience that is sure to awe anyone. So far, my favorite has been O, mostly due to the music and imagery in the show. What can I say, I like water and fire! Just be warned, I think the seats are a little tight in the theatre.

If you’ve never been to Las Vegas, I think it is something everyone should go do. It’s not horribly expensive to visit in February like we do. And, there really is something for everyone. I mostly go to just escape, shop, eat, and be pampered. I’m not much of a gambler really, but my aunt sure is! I like my money where I can see it, in my closet!
